Like his father, Horst, and his brother, Dominik, Mario has the racing gene. In 1998, at the age of six, his father took him to the karting track where he made his first steps in motor racing. By the end of 2007 he started driving for the Tony Kart factory team where world champion F-1 driver Michael Schumacher mentored young Mario. After his last race in karts he was invited to take part in the Formula BMW scholarships where he continued to win, which opened the door to the real racing world. In 2010 he started in the ADAC Formula Masters Series where he placed third in the championship and became rookie of the year in Germany. Mario continued to find success and in 2012 he drove in the final race of the American Le Mans Series where he and his team finished in first place after 10 hours in the Porsche GT3 Cup. In 2013 Mario raced again in the ADAC GT Masters and drove in the legendary 24 hours of Nurburging. 2014 brings a new challenge.
